About David:

David Bills LPC, NCC- has been a licensed professional counselor and National Board Certified Counselor since 2011 with a master’s degree in counseling and a bachelor of arts in Spanish literature. (Spanish Counseling Sessions available). Individual, couple, and family counseling certification. Experienced play therapist and Sandtray counselor.

He is a father of 4 children and two wonderful stepchildren.

David believes in post-traumatic growth; hard times and events can make individuals and families stronger and more effective in the long run.

Trauma, grief, and loss touch every one at different times of life. Whether due to acute- right now- circumstances or with chronic hereditary factors there are often heavy and distressing burdens such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, infidelity, divorce, and addictions. He believes that during these times when the weight of the world bears us down individuals and families typically try to cope the best ways they can. Yet, sometimes extra help is needed.

Counseling is a professional helping endeavor providing support, skills, positive reinforcement, and additional perspective which help give direction if circumstances or behaviors have become unmanageable. It seems we live in a white knuckle generation. However, bearing life’s most difficult challenges alone is not only not necessary, but perhaps not as effective as using your strength to reach out for assistance.

As an existentialist or one who believes all people naturally strive to improve themselves, David feels strongly that there are no bad people just folks learning how to navigate their lives in more effective manners. As a counselor, he has learned from many individuals and families a great variety of helpful actions that provide immediate relief while working to resolve some of the bigger burdens. Hope is not only possible for others, but for you also.

Being an active participant and guide in recovery from addictions, anxiety, depression and other burdens is both an honor and a privilege. A relationship of trust is important in counseling and requisite to a healthy therapeutic alliance to reach out and help stabilize those in need.

If you feel you are experiencing life challenging events or difficult recurring episodes please contact our office for a consultation and more information.
