About Samantha:

Samantha Wiederrecht earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from the University of Wyoming in 2012, and her Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Wyoming in 2019. Samantha is a Provisional Professional Counselor (PPC) in the state of Wyoming, a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP).

Samantha’s primary focus is to serve the rural community in her home state of Wyoming. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents, and she enjoys working with adults and family systems. A social justice advocate at heart, her passion for at-risk youth, marginalized populations, and suicide prevention have inspired her to continue to grow both personally and professionally.

Samantha believes in the importance of authenticity, collaboration, empowerment, inclusivity, advocacy, and a strong therapeutic alliance. As a dually licensed Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) School Counselor K-12, Samantha has experience providing mental health services to the general student population as well as children and adolescents who experience physical, developmental, social, emotional, and sensory diversity. In practice, Samantha uses an integrative person-centered, strengths-based approach. She utilizes a variety of evidence backed methods and techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Play Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She loves the outdoors, where she enjoys camping, fishing, and homesteading. As a lifelong learner, Samantha also appreciates reading, studying new topics, and exploring the ever-changing world around her.
